The Jazzmaster was only around for a few months before the new year (that new year being 1959), so the overwhelming majority of gold-guard Jazzmasters are from 1959. To find a first-year example, much less in this condition, is incredibly rare. That fact cannot be overstated enough! An investment-grade instrument that has surged in popularity over the past two decades and shows no sign of diminishing.
